The magnificent Ed Rush, co-owner of Virus Recordings, and legendary darkside D&B producer, drops his first release this year with "Book Of Sight". Responsible for the late 90s development of techstep into neurofunk, along with long-term collaborator, Optical, the man otherwise known as Ben Settle has come to define D&B for a generation of fans. He continues to channel a tech-ed out, industrial sound here, with a crunchy b-line, razor sharp beats, sci-fi samples and a hammering heaviness in the title track. "Arcadia" is a ferocious nightmare machination, with ominous movie sampling leading into a tough stepper of a track with tense synth play and inky black pools of subterranean bass. An essential for the junglist militia.
